2. What FlatterMe Does

FlatterMe provides body-profile based fashion recommendations. Users may complete a quiz, use a browser extension on supported shopping sites, request product scoring, and optionally send feedback about recommendations.

3. Data We Process

Depending on how you use FlatterMe, we may process:

  • Quiz answers, body profile information, style preferences, height category, and fit preferences.
  • Product text from shopping pages, such as product names, descriptions, materials, fit, and visible product details.
  • Recommendation scores, matched style keywords, and explanation data.
  • Feedback you submit, such as “I’d try this,” “Fit concern,” “Not my style,” or “Wrong item/details.”
  • Technical request data, such as IP address, date/time, browser information, and server logs.

FlatterMe is not intended to process special categories of personal data under Article 9 GDPR. Please do not submit medical, health, biometric, or similarly sensitive information.

4. Browser Extension

The FlatterMe browser extension reads visible product information on shopping pages to generate recommendations. It sends product text and your saved body profile to the FlatterMe scoring API when a product is scored. It does not need access to your payment details or checkout information.

5. Purposes and Legal Bases

  • Providing recommendations and operating the service: Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, performance of a contract or pre-contractual service.
  • Saving optional feedback and improving recommendations: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in improving FlatterMe.
  • Server security, abuse prevention, and debugging: Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in secure operation.
  • Where consent is requested for optional processing: Article 6(1)(a) GDPR.

6. Storage and Retention

Local quiz/profile data may be stored in your browser. Server-side feedback and recommendation data are kept only as long as needed to operate and improve the service, unless legal obligations require longer retention. You may request deletion using the contact details above.

7. Processors and Hosting

FlatterMe may use technical service providers for hosting, databases, deployment, and infrastructure. These providers process data only as instructed and as needed to provide the service. If data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, appropriate safeguards such as EU Standard Contractual Clauses should be used where required.

Current infrastructure may include Vercel for hosting/deployment and a database provider for storing feedback and model data. Replace this paragraph with your exact providers before publication.

8. Cookies and Local Storage

FlatterMe may use browser local storage to save quiz answers, body profile information, and extension state. If analytics, tracking, or non-essential cookies are added later, this policy and any required consent mechanism must be updated.

9. Automated Recommendations

FlatterMe uses rule-based and machine-learning assisted scoring to estimate whether clothing details may suit a user’s profile. These recommendations are style guidance only and do not create legally or similarly significant effects.

10. Your GDPR Rights

You have the right to:

  • access your personal data,
  • rectify inaccurate data,
  • request deletion,
  • request restriction of processing,
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests,
  • receive data portability where applicable,
  • withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent, and
  • lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
